Critical Reflection Blog: Manna Sera Bonito
1.How does your product use or challenge conventions, AND how does it represent social groups or issues?
My product targets social groups that are of the younger generation, most likely teens. My product targets them by relating to them on an educational level due to every student being mentally stressed due to school work and overall responsibilities. Although it is not the most unique film with its conventions, it still sends the message we need.
2.How does your product engage with audiences, AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?
My product interacts with audiences through events. Within the project, there is events in which the main character looks down or sad. This shows emotion that our audience can feel and relate to since they also feel down at times. And it doesn’t always have to be caused by someone or something; it could come randomly due to the big impacts of stress. But if my project were a real thing, people would access it through an app. More helpful videos like my project will be shown along with additional motivational quotes and helpful lessons to help other people going through the same thing. As well as adding a chat feature to help form friendly relationships to help each other feel better.
3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
My production skills developed by improving my filming skills and editing skills. It improved my filming by knowing my different conventions and knowing how to include it to make my story flow. I used many different shots. For example; close-up, long shot, tracking shot and ect. It also helped me with knowing how to angle my camera. By knowing if the camera should be angled down or up. Whether to slant the camera instead of keeping it straight. Also working with people to let them know where to stand or act was also something different I needed to do compared to the last project. Lastly, I improved my editing skills in this music video. It allowed me to learn different ways to cut some scenes and include it in the video. Instead of using capcut, I found this new program called Adobe Premiere Pro. Which was a huge improvement from my last project. Which was the commercial. Overall my skills definitely show that it has improved compared to the project I did last
4.How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?
In this music video technology was included in almost everything I did. Research blog, production blog, communication with my teammates, filming, the editing, and lastly the publishing of the video. In the research blog we used the internet to search for ideas for how to film this project. For the communication with my team mates we used Instagram or just regular messages to communicate. The team also used an agenda to know when everyone was available and when to film. Filming was also another thing I used technology for. I used my iphone and camera to film some scenes. Lastly I also used it for editing which pretty much was the major part where technology was key. It was key due to the program I used to cut the videos and add the music. This was overall the main way technology was integrated.
